Ansell Limited is a healthcare solutions provider of barrier protection products against injury, infection and contamination. The Company is engaged in the development, manufacturing and sourcing, distribution and sale of gloves and protective products in the Professional Healthcare, occupational healthcare and consumer healthcare global markets. Ansell operates in three segments: Occupational Healthcare, which includes the manufacture and sale of occupational health and safety gloves; Professional Healthcare, which includes the manufacture and sale of medical, surgical and examination gloves for hand barrier protection and infection control, and Consumer Healthcare, which includes the manufacture and sale of condoms, household gloves and other personal products. On March 30, 2006, the Company acquired 75% of Wuhan Jissbon Sanitary Products Company Ltd., a Chinese condom marketer. In May 2007, the Company acquired Fabrica de Artefatos de Latex Blowtex Ltda of Brazil.
