Aquila Resources Limited (Aquila) is an Australian company engaged in exploration and mining of coal and iron ore resources. The Company's coal projects in Australia include Isaac Plains Coal Project, Belvedere Coal Underground Project and Peak Downs East Underground Coal Project. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2006 (fiscal 2006), Aquila increased its ground holdings in the Bowen Basin to ten tenements, with the total area held amounting to 3,104 square kilometers. In Mozambique, the Company acquired twelve tenements covering an area totaling 2,567 square kilometers. Aquila holds five coal prospecting licenses in Botswana. The Company's iron ore projects include Western Pilbara and Eastern Pilbara. On February 17, 2006, Aquila, along with its joint venture partner, American Metals and Coal Industries Inc., entered into an agreement with De Beers Australia Exploration Limited (De Beers) to acquire De Beers' tenement portfolio in the Western Pilbara region of Western Australia.
