Coates Hire Group Limited is engaged in the hire of equipment, servicing the construction, resource, civil engineering and contracting industries, and a range of industrial, commercial and government organizations. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2006, Coates operations comprised of 10 business units: Coates Hire (North, East, South and West), Coates Prestige, Coates Shorco, Allied Equipment, Coates Conrent, Coates Offshore and Coates Hire Indonesia. The Company supplies to a variety of markets, which include engineering civil construction, building construction and maintenance, mining and resources, manufacturing, government, industrial shutdowns and events. Coates' overseas operations consist of Coates Offshore based in Aberdeen in the United Kingdom providing specialized equipment to the offshore oil and gas industry, and Coates Hire Indonesia with seven locations supporting the mining resource and offshore sectors. On July 10, 2006, the Conrent business unit was sold.
