CSL Limited is a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the research, development, manufacture, marketing and distribution of biopharmaceutical and allied products. The Company operates in one segment, Human Health, which is divided into CSL Behring (formerly known as ZLB Behring), and Other Human Health that includes CSL Biotherapies (formerly known as CSL Pharmaceutical) and CSL Bioplasma. CSL Behring provides plasma-derived and recombinant products. CSL Biotherapies manufactures and markets biological products for human use, and markets vaccines and other prescription pharmaceuticals for international partners. CSL Bioplasma manufactures plasma products to treat bleeding disorders (such as hemophilia), to treat infections and autoimmune diseases, and to prevent hemolytic disease of the newborn. In July 2007, CSL Behring had been granted marketing approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Privigen (Immune Globulin Intravenous (Human) 10% Liquid).
