Emperor Mines Limited is engaged in the exploration, development and exploitation of gold deposits. The company principally operates in Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Australia. Emperor Mines conducts its business activities from three mines: Vatukoula, Tolukuma and Porgera. Gold production, during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2006 (fiscal 2006), was 185,081 ounces. The Company also maintains eleven exploration licenses covering 9,114 square kilometers for tenements ELs 683, 1297, 1379, 1284, 1271, 1352 and 1366, with four tenements, EL 580, 894, 1264 and 1327 awaiting renewal. The tenements contain mineralisation and anomalies at all scales from individual porphyry stocks (Cu-Au) to the Tolukuma epithermal vein (Au) system. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2006, Emperor Mines acquired Australasian assets of DRDGold. On April 6, 2006, it acquired PNG assets of DRDGold.
