Equinox Minerals Limited (Equinox) is an international mineral exploration and development company with a focus on base and precious metals. Equinox has exploration activity being undertaken in Zambia and interests in Australia and Peru. The Company owns 100% of the Lumwana Copper Project (Lumwana), a copper project located in the North Western Province of Zambia. The Lumwana large scale mining license (LML-49) covers 1,355 square kilometers and includes two copper deposits: Malundwe and Chimiwungo, and 25 exploration prospects. Equinox has interests in Australian nickel exploration through equity interests in Liontown Resources Limited and Alturas Minerals Corp. for gold and copper-gold exploration in Peru. In 2007, Equinox signed the Lumwana offtake contract with Chambishi Copper Smelter Limited, a joint venture between China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co. Ltd. and Yunnan Copper Industry (Group) Co. Ltd. to build a copper smelter at the Chambishi mine on the Zambian Copperbelt.
