Healthscope Limited is a provider of healthcare services, through the ownership of hospitals and the provision of diagnostic services (pathology). Its operating segments include pathology, analytical, hospitals and other. It operates in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. On November 1, 2005, it acquired 14 hospitals from Ramsay Health Care Limited. The Company's subsidiaries include Healthscope South Australia Pty Ltd, Healthscope (Tasmania) Pty Ltd, Maybury Craft Pty Ltd, Darwin Private Hospital Pty Ltd, AHC Radiology Pty Ltd, Australian Hospital Care (Como) Pty Ltd and Australian Hospital Care (Dorset) Pty Ltd. On November 1, 2006, it acquired Melbourne Private Hospital. In December 2006, the Company acquired DoctorsLab Diagnostics Pte Ltd., a provider of community-based pathology services in Singapore. On February 12, 2007, the Company acquired Brisbane Private Hospital and the associated medical centers. On June 1, 2007, the Company acquired Newcastle Private Hospital.
