Midwest Corporation Limited is engaged in the exploration for and processing for sale of iron ore. The Company has signed a joint venture agreement with Sinosteel Corporation. The joint venture covers the Company's two projects: the Weld Range Haematite project and the Koolanooka Magnetite project, both located in the Mid West region of Western Australia. The Weld Range project is a direct shipping ore project. Koolanooka/Blue Hills direct shipping iron ore project is the Company's first project to come into production. This project is based at the old Koolanooka mine site 200 kilometers east of Geraldton with Blue Hills a further 70 kilometers east of Koolanooka. The proposed Koolanooka Magnetite Project forms the second stage in the development of the Koolanooka resource. Midwest Corporation Limited holds other tenements at Robinson Range and nearby Jack Hills in Western Australia. These areas are prospective for iron.
