Metallica Minerals Limited (Metallica) is engaged in mineral exploration and progressing development of its various mineral projects. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2006 (fiscal 2006), the Company has completed a combined 218 reverse circulation (RC) and 33 core drill holes on the Bell Creek South Lease, Bell Creek North Lease and Northwest areas. In June 2006, a 20 hole RC programme totaling 772 meters was completed at the Kokomo cobalt rich nickel laterite prospect. Holes were drilled on a nominal 60 meters x 60 meters grid. Metallica holds three Queensland limestone projects, Boyne and Fairview near Gladstone and Star near Townsville. No exploration field work was completed on the limestone projects during fiscal 2006. Its subsidiaries include QLD Gold Pty ltd, Oresome Australia Pty Ltd, SE Qld Energy Pty. Ltd, SE Qld Coal Pty. Ltd and Metrocoal Limited. During fiscal 2006, the Company applied for two mining leases over the Boyne limestone deposits near Gladstone.
