Origin Energy Limited is engaged in the supply of natural gas, electricity and liquid petroleum gas to business and residential customers in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region. It operates through four business units: Exploration and Production, under which the Company holds significant producing assets, operates onshore processing facilities, and holds a portfolio of onshore and offshore exploration permits; Retail, which is engaged in the retailing of gas, electricity and energy-related products and services; Generation, which owns and operates a portfolio of power plants with a total capacity of more than 3,000 megawatts, and Networks, which provides a range of services required to operate and manage gas and water networks and other infrastructure in Australia. The Company has its major production interests in the Cooper Basin in Queensland, South Australia. Its other onshore production interests are located in the Surat, Bowen, Otway, Perth and Otway basins in Australia.
