Oxiana Limited (Oxiana) is a mining and exploration company. During the year ended December 31, 2006, the principal activities of Oxiana consisted of production of gold and copper cathode at Sepon in Laos; production of zinc, copper and lead concentrates at Golden Grove in Western Australia; commencement of construction of the copper and gold mine at Prominent Hill in South Australia; exploration for further resources at Sepon, Golden Grove and Prominent Hill; exploration activities in other parts of Laos, China, Thailand, Cambodia and Australia, and evaluation of other exploration and business development opportunities. It has five business segments: Sepon Gold operations, Sepon Copper operations, Oxiana Golden Grove operations, Oxiana Prominent Hill and Other, which includes revenues and expenses associated with general corporate office activities. In May 2007, the Company, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Oxiana Agincourt Holdings Pty Ltd, acquired Agincourt Resources Limited.
