Straits Resources Limited (Straits) is a diversified resources company. Straits controls and operates the Whim Creek copper mine in Western Australia, the Tritton copper mine in New South Wales, the Mt Muro gold mine in Indonesia and the Sebuku Coal mine in Indonesia owned by its subsidiary Straits Asia Resources Limited (SARL). In addition, Straits holds a portfolio of mining investments, development projects and exploration ground throughout Australia and Indonesia. Straits also owns Varomet, an international physical metal distribution and marketing business. In May 2006, Straits Resources Limited acquired 96.30% interest in Tritton Resources Limited (Tritton). In November 2006, the Straits Resources Group acquired Varomet Holdings Limited. In July 2007, Varomet Holdings Limited purchased Norsk Hydro�s magnesium operations.
