Wesfarmers Limited operates through a portfolio of diversified businesses focused in Australia and New Zealand. These activities comprise interests in home improvement products and building supplies, coal mining, gas processing and distribution, industrial and safety product distribution, chemicals and fertilizers manufacture and insurance. The Company also has interests in private equity and other activities, which include rail transport, property investment, investment banking. Its energy interests comprise three coal businesses, a power generation business and a range of support services. The segments in which it operates include Energy, Home Imporvement, Insurance, Industrial and Safety distribution, Chemicals and fertilizers and Other. As of November 6, 2006, Wesfarmers Limited had acquired a 90.77% interest in OAMPS Limited. In January 2007, the Company completed the acquisition of Linde Gas Pty Ltd, a participant in the Australian industrial gas market.
